What is Clan Outcast?

If you were to generate a finite definition about Clan Outcast one could say that: “We are gamers.” However, no finite definition could ever fully encompass or encapsulate who we are or what we do. This gaming family is much more than a mere ‘clan’. Our members range from 18 to 50 years old and we live all over the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. We consist of truck drivers, web designers, doctors, soldiers, real estate developers, business owners, students, professors, and a host of other occupations. Yet it is not our careers, nationality, or backgrounds that bind us. Clan Outcast is a community of gamers who are brought together by the games and machines they are passionate about and we are held together by the friendships and camaraderie that is forged in the heat of battle.

The family that is Clan Outcast is not exclusively dedicated to formal competition or to restrictive public gaming but believe both can be rewarding. Outcasts will attest that it is unifying teamwork, and not elite individual talents, that outline our creed as we game. Starting from a small group the clan has grown and molded over the years growing and enduring the pains associated with such growth. Today our members are players who not only enjoy gaming together, but are a close knit group of friends. Those that form this community are devoted to bettering the individual as well as the team. We leave nobody behind and never back down from a challenge. We are gamers, we are team players, we are more than the sum of our parts…we are Clan Outcast.

Why the name “Clan Outcast”?

The name “Clan Outcast” originally sprung from the choice each of the founding members (see our History for more information on the founders and the roots of Clan Outcast) made when they decided to cede from the honorable Metal Marines. We cast ourselves out from the comfortable boundaries that paid our game server and voice communications bills and managed our website into a realm where we had nothing. We were even considered pariah by many of the Metal Marines but we sought more than the Marines could offer and therefore the adventure that became Clan Outcast began. It is noteworthy that this gaming family is called ‘Clan Outcast’ and not ‘Outcast Clan’ as some have misinterpreted by examining our clan tag =0C=.

The =0C= tag

Formed from the numeral zero and a capital C the Clan Outcast tag is a unification of the words “out” and “cast”. Foremost we are a family of Outcasts. The choice of the zero instead of a capital O was not only for aesthetic reasons but also to signify where we started and what we started with. Clan Outcast may have begun at zero but as our history can attest to we have come a long way.
