Purpose of the Code of Conduct
As a highly adaptive gaming clan we believe we our aim should
always be centered on what matters most: Integrity. The actions
Clan Outcast members take and the reputation they hold on the
battlefield not only reflect on them, but on the entire clan as
well. Clan Outcast members are to represent the clan in an
honorable way both on our server and any other server they may
play on. In order to further define how the members of Clan
Outcast are to interact with one another and the gaming
community at large the following Code of Conduct has been
established.
The Code of Conduct is summarized is as follows: Clan Outcast
members bearing the =0C= tag will act with integrity in all they
do. A clan built on integrity creates bonds of trust that lead
to strong and enduring relationships within the clan and in the
community in which they operate. Integrity is to guide Outcast
member’s behavior in all things. The values that serve to make
up our commitment to integrity are as follows:
Honesty: To be candid and forthright in our interactions, clear
and accurate in our communications. To earn and keep the trust
of those we game with.
Decency: To treat people with dignity and fairness. To listen to
the ideas of others, even opposing views, and work together with
humility to solve problems both in-game and in all forums where
we participate.
Consistency: To live up to our commitments to our members and
those joining in the gaming experience. To be accountable for
our actions in our striving for excellence.
Courage: To be brave enough to articulate and actually live our
values, even when confronted by those who don't. To do what is
right, especially when it's easier to do wrong.
Essential Articles of the Code of Conduct
Cheating or Hacking WILL NOT be Tolerated
Cheating of any kind, for any reason, will not be tolerated.
There will absolutely be no cheating on our server or any other
server by players bearing the =0C= tag. Accusations of cheating
will be met with a warning and investigation. The ultimate
punishment for confirmed cheating is expulsion from Clan
Outcast.
It is a reprehensible embarrassment for anyone to use hacks or
modifications that give them an unfair advantage. While we
cannot control the behavior of other players any member of Clan
Outcast will use unmodified game content at all times excluding
‘modification’ as that defined by the utilization of the game
engine for new maps and weapons by professional developers (i.e.
Point of Existence).
These guidelines are the most strictly followed of anything
found in the code of conduct.
Respect is our Clan Language
All Clan Outcast members and recruits will conduct themselves in
a professional manner at all times. Rudeness, personal character
attacks, and/or inappropriate remarks is prohibited in the
TeamSpeak server, clan forums, server text communications, and
any interaction a member has with other clans or organizations.
It is expected that everyone, at all times, to be respectful to
each other keeping in mind that all members are considered
equal. No one member is more worthy than another, regardless of
nationality, age, religious beliefs, or any other categorical
medium.
Attitude and Vernacular
Any player, regardless of talent, with a continuous bad attitude
will be removed.
The use of profanity and or excessive taunting on our server or
other servers is also discouraged. This is not intended to be a
censor of all language but instead a request that each member
select his or her words carefully in consideration of all
listeners or readers. It is our goal to provide a place where
everyone, serious gamers and novices alike, can enjoy themselves
without the concern of becoming a target of character
assassination.
Respect is our Golden rule. Do not insult other clans,
especially in their servers. Inciting inflammatory responses on
our forums and other clan forums is strictly prohibited.
If someone outside of the clan is falling short of these
standards or otherwise disrespecting a member and requests for
the behavior to cease have failed contact and officer for
further assistance.
No clan member is allowed to accuse another player of cheating
in public; contact an Officer. If no Officer is on the server at
the time make a note of the player's name and send this along
with a description of the offense to
support@outcastoutpost.com.
Allegiance to Clan Outcast
All Clan Outcast members are expected to play publicly and in
formal competition ONLY under the Clan Outcast banner. What this
means is that clan members that wear the =0C= tag are not to
seek out or place membership with another gaming clan or
community unless they decide to first leave Clan Outcast. This
ultimatum for allegiance is strict but necessary to prevent
dissention among the ranks and to create solidarity within the
Clan Outcast body. A soldier cannot fight for two armies just as
a man cannot serve two masters. Any Outcast members found to be
playing for another team, wearing another clan’s tag, or
submitting application for membership will be expelled from Clan
Outcast
Joking Some players think any behavior or language is
acceptable as long as you say you were just "joking". Joking is
an abstract entity and not easily defined. Everyone has their
own definition of what they think is acceptable and what is not.
We play this game for fun and fun comments are part of it. But
use the utmost discretion. Do not say anything to someone on the
server that you wouldn't say to their face in real life. If in
doubt, KEEP QUIET. If you have been warned or told by the person
that they don't think what you are saying is funny, knock it off
or you will be treated as if you are harassing the person.
MEMBERS TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS
If, and particularly when, a Clan Outcast makes a mistake that
member must take responsibility for that mistake and make any
necessary amends.
Scheduling Matches and/or Scrimmages
NO clan members, other than Officers, may challenge or accept a
challenge from another clan for a scrim. If you see a clan you
think we might like to play, or if another clan challenges you,
please direct all those seeking a scrimmage to the Challenge
form in the Clan Outcast Outpost.
The =0C= Tag is Privilege
Each clan member must have their own username or nick. This
benefits each clan member in the interest of protecting their
online reputation. If you let someone play from your
personal computer you MUST change the tags or at the very least
put some extension on alerting us to the fact that it IS NOT
YOU. Some of our members allow their children to play (which is
great; an is encouraged) but please add an extension letting the
members know a different player is at the helm.
Any inappropriate behavior by a person playing with your tags on
and from your IP will be attributed to YOU. Your tag is your
identification and badge of honor so guard it appropriately.
Rules During Scrimmages & Matches
Only Officers can talk with the other Clan Leader before and
during the scrimmage or match. Do not make offers or suggestions
that might put us at a disadvantage that the Match Commanders
then have to talk their way out of.
If a "BE SILENT" ("be quiet", etc.) order is issued by your
Match Commander, CEASE ALL COMMUNICATIONS. The Commander is
trying to talk to the other clan leaders and your comments only
confuse the issue. Failure to cease talking after being warned
can result in the strictest punishment up to and including
removal from present and future match or scrimmage gaming.
Name-calling, cursing, excessive talking or harassment is NOT
allowed during scrimmages or matches.
If you get upset and quit a match in the middle of the game,
simply because things aren't going the way you would like them
to, you WILL be removed from the clan. We have no tolerance for
childish behavior in a game. Comments about how badly the game
is going are best kept to yourself or spoken to clan mates only
AFTER the scrims are over.
